Welcome to the Fall 2023 UC Merced Bobcat Treasure Hunt!

The hunt will open on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 8 am, and will end at 11:59 pm on Friday, September 29, 2023.
What is it? The goal of the Bobcat Treasure Hunt is to help YOU locate and connect with campus services committed to YOUR academic success and wellness.
- There is one hunt for all UC Merced undergraduate students who are enrolled for fall semester 2023!
- Anyone may register and play, but only matriculated and enrolled UC Merced undergraduate students are eligible to win prizes.
Why should I participate? To learn about UC Merced student services and interesting campus locations, make new friends along the way, and be entered into a drawing to win a gift card in the value of $25 to $50. The more students who complete the hunt, the more prizes there will be! If there are 50 completers, there will be one $25 gift card. If there are 100 completers, we will add a $50 gift card. If there are 150 completers, we will add another $25 gift card, and so on!
How do I join? Download the Scavify app and register using your UC Merced email address to create your account. Make up your own username and create a unique password! Once you have created an account, join the Fall 2023 hunt and complete all the tasks.
How do I play? The hunt is organized to help you learn about campus resources. By following the tasks in order (they are set up to move clockwise around campus), you will save time and energy. You do not have to complete the tasks in order, but all the tasks must be completed for you to be entered in the drawing for a prize.
How do I play if I don't have access to a mobile device? If you do not have access to a mobile device, please come to Student Services Building (SSB) 216 for an alternate method of completing the hunt, or reach out to Summer Session (summersession@ucmerced.edu) for assistance.
How can I win? By completing the treasure hunt! Every matriculated and enrolled UC Merced undergraduate student who completes the hunt, and who did not win a prize in a prior Bob Cat Treasure Hunt, will be entered into the drawing to win a prize in the Fall 2023 hunt.
What will I be entered to win? The drawings are for gift cards for places like Target, Amazon, and local businesses and are $25 or $50.
RULES & INFORMATION
- You must be a current and enrolled UC Merced undergraduate student to be eligible for the drawing.
- You must create/register your Scavify account using your UC Merced email address, but you can make a username of your choice. Create a unique password to protect your identity! UC Merced email address will be used to verify the identities of drawing winners and only undergraduate students registered with their own UC Merced email address will be eligible to win a drawing.
- You will only be entered into the drawing one time, even if you complete the hunt more than once.
- You have an opportunity to win a prize by completing the hunt before the hunt ends. The hunt will open on Thursday, August 17, 2023, at 8 am, and will end on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 11:59 pm.
- The drawings have no cash value beyond the gift card prize.
- The prize drawing is for UC Merced undergraduate students who are matriculated and enrolled in the fall semester of 2023.
- Drawing winners must be active and matriculated UC Merced students in the fall of 2023 to be eligible to win a prize.
- Undergraduate students who complete the hunt will be added by UC Merced email address to a list of completers for the hunt.
- An email address will only be entered one time into the drawing.
- A random generator will be used to select three winners, as well as a list of alternates.
- Should a drawing winner not be eligible to claim their award, the award will be offered to the next alternate on the list.
