UC Merced Recreation offers a wide variety of sports and activities, ranging from group fitness classes to diverse intramural sports, sport clubs, comprehensive outdoor adventure trips and intercollegiate athletics.
- The Joseph Edward Gallo Recreation and Wellness Center contains state-of-the-art cardio and fitness equipment, group exercise equipment and a multi-purpose gym. Students can watch their favorite television programs on the three cardio theater television systems in the main cardio area, while others will take in the views out the windows as they workout in the distributed cardio areas. Students can also participate in a variety of group fitness classes.
- UC Merced intramural sports is a great way to meet new people, get exercise, relieve stress and enjoy playing a sport you love. The program is also an opportunity for first-timers to get involved.
- The UC Merced Outdoor Experience Program has something for everyone! From day hikes in Yosemite to heart-pounding whitewater rafting on the American River, there are outdoor adventures for all skill levels, all year!
The Office of Student Life's (OSL) mission is to encourage involvement in campus life, support student initiatives and serve as a primary liaison to students. OSL coordinates a variety of activities, ranging from free breakfasts to trips to the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, to enrich students' Summer Session experience.
